floral midi dress styled 2 ways

pretty floral prints have my heart, but so do rose bushes!

I love the easiness of this floral midi dress (love this one here) and knew it’d be a fun one to feature in my ways to wear it series. I hope you enjoy this post featuring a floral midi dress styled 2 ways

look 1

for the first look, I chose a denim jacket (similar here) because they’re SUCH an easy and effortless piece to layer over and pair with any outfit.

a denim jacket with a dress keeps it dressed down and very wearable for multiple outing opportunities. I think it’s fun to wear dresses in my day to day, if you’re not one of those people that LOVES dresses – try wearing a denim jacket over next time.

I opted for pink accessories (similar bag here) and shoes with this look because of my blue denim jacket. I love the feminine pop my headband (similar here) gives to this look and the flats are so comfy. this outfit is something I could wear out with friends, but also on a walk with my kids.

there’s something about a cute outfit that makes me happier and honestly, feel better about myself. don’t get me wrong – I LOVE comfy tees and sweatpants, but I’ve noticed the days that I do my hair/makeup or put on something I feel good in .. I typically have a better attitude and feel more confident.

look 2

I was on a button up kick, trying to come up with new and fun ways to style my button up tops because I felt a little bored of them and wanted to make these blouses feel fresh and stylish again.

I like the idea of wearing button up tops over a dress and tying it up so it covers the dress, and the dress becomes a skirt. I think this is a cute way to wear a dress and gives you more versatility. you can also try this trick with tee shirts and other types of tops. (this printed one is so cute!)

this second look I kept more muted in the color palette, and threw in a neutral sandal. I love cognac leather or faux leather sandals because of how perfectly they pair with ANYTHING. seriously I own 3+ neutral sandals and I almost always choose one of them for an outfit in the summertime. (love this pair)
