stripes + summer goals

I’m obsessed with stripes + summer goals .. I love that where I live there are fields and farm land. even though I know it won’t last forever, I’m going to enjoy these moments and capture these gorgeous landscapes in photos as long as I can.

our family trip to Nevada at the beginning of the month has really set the tone for our summer, trying to focus on what’s really important and spending time together has been our summer goal.

there are many times where my husband and I put down our phones, our work or our own agendas so we can focus on playing with our girls and doing things together. even if it’s just to take a drive and get a yummy ice cream treat, splash in the pool or ride scooters with the girls. I know that their childhood only lasts so long … and I want to cultivate a fun life for them.

my heart and head feel heavy. this year has been SO draining. we’re approaching July and I honestly wonder where this year has gone and what I have done with my time?

there’s still half the summer left so I’m going to do my best to keep in the fun spirit of childhood that my kids deserve. they don’t need to feel the worry, the panic, the unknown.

I’ve got plans to make sugar cookies today with the girls and I’m really excited about it. I think we’ll make stars (and whatever other shapes they choose) lol

this outfit is all old, but I just love sharing this J.Crew striped top for the 4th of July! it’s the perfect, most comfy button down. see how I styled it here last year .. see more cute striped things here .. this top comes in a jumpsuit!

get a similar look …

thanks for reading about stripes + summer goals, I hope you’re able to have fun this summer and accomplish a few things you’ve been wanting to!

I’ve trying to remember that I don’t have to have GRAND plans to make this summer special for my kids. even just a half hour of playing their favorite game or reading stories or snuggling and talking will mean the world.

share some of your ‘summer goals’ in the comments!

xo, Jensyn
