2 ways to wear a floral dress

there are so many ways I could style this dress, but today I’m focusing on 2 ways to wear a floral dress for spring featuring this gorgeous knee length option.

OUTFIT 1 – ADD A CARDIGAN AND A HAT

dressing for the in-between season right now .. in Utah it’s still rainy and chilly, but I’m just so excited to wear my floral dresses for spring! I’m loving the pops of blue and tan in the actual dress so I pulled from those colors in the rest of my look. do you have a dress that has pattern? or do you prefer a solid?

STYLE TIP – if your dress is solid, I would opt for a color that is neutral to pair with your colorful dress OR pick a color that would best compliment a neutral dress. (example .. cream dress with a coral cardigan, or blue dress with a gray cardigan)

if you feel like a color master and you’re ready to pair colors together – my favorite thing right now is monochrome. pairing together colors from the same side of the spectrum. (so if your dress is pale blush, layer with a slightly darker or lighter shade of the same pink.)

I’m obsessing over the matching hat and bag. it’s definitely ‘a look’ lol and if you’re not into that’s okay. you could even for-go the hat situation if hats aren’t your thing. I’m actually trying to get used to wearing them again with my shorter hair. I think I definitely like hats better on myself when my hair is longer.

hats + bags …

we’ve been hitting between the 50’s here in Utah this week but it’s supposedly going to snow soon. BOO. I swear it always snows in March and it’s not fair. it takes me back to the spring of 2010 when I hung out with my husband for the first time lol. I got in a car full of boys and we did donuts in the church parking lot in a snowstorm. BOYS amiright?!

OUTFIT 2 – CLASSIC DENIM JACKET AND NEUTRALS

this outfit I’m sure everyone could recreate. a classic denim jacket in a medium/light wash and a cute pair of neutral sandals. easy easy!

this outfit would be cute for a brunch, or any gathering where you want to be cute but also comfortable. I love throwing on a denim jacket with fun, bright dresses. it makes the outfit a bit more casual but also put together and polished at the same time.

these sandals are actually one of my favorite things right now, they’re SO easy to get off and on because they’re VELCRO! the straps velcro in place which is AMAZING and so much more practical. I’m usually in slip on flats or mules because who has time to tie their own shoes, when they’re putting shoes on other people too? lol ‘mom life’ but these sandals are really cute. I wore them with some jeans and a colorful blouse and LOVED it all together.

I’m sharing a bunch of cute dress and sandal options for spring! being at home, I’ve had a lot of extra time to browse the online shops lol and so I’m sharing a few I just adore below

dresses …

out of the 2 ways to wear a floral dress, which outfit is your favorite??

thanks for reading and for stopping by today! my girls and I are all sick with colds, and since we’re social distancing we haven’t been anywhere lately either. so here’s to trying to find a balance between work and play and pray for me and my patience lol
