I had a ton of fun making the video and seeing all the lip colors, keep in mind ;) I'm extremely fair skinned, so I was actually surprised too on the way some of the colors looked on me. I love the 'juice bar' lippie stix because it's the perfect 'my lips but better' easy to wear lip color. I love both the lippie stix and ultra matte lip formulas. The ultra matte lip colors really do last forever ;) :) it's amazing and kind of tricky at the same time. rub some olive oil on your lips to get the color to come off - that's my best trick I've learned from other bloggers - by doing that you won't have to basically shed all your skin off from rubbing so dang hard! (big oopsies!)

I'm definitely hat obsessed. that is NO secret ;) I bought this hat online a couple weeks ago and when it arrived I was so excited. I have already styled it with a few outfits and I admit it's pretty perfect. the black goes with everything and its shape is really indie/boho so I love that. 

it feels like forever since I wore my black denim on the blog and with the cold weather still going strong, scarves and sweaters are a must! I love this darker color palette. Lately I've been in a lot of cream and other pastels, so this look is a great break between more 'springy' looks that are coming :)

today's post features the light weight cargo/military jacket from my prepping for spring post, where I shared some key pieces to help get us through the winter to spring transition. with stores stocking their shelves with spring clothing, it's difficult to refrain entirely ;) so today I'm sharing how to style this jacket now and how to rock it in a few months down the road. 

keeping the jacket paired with neutrals or darker colors and heavier fabrics makes it perfect for now. while pairing pink and more delicate jewelry really opens up your options for wearing this jacket in the spring.

I'm getting excited for spring but I do really love layering and hats and boots ;) so I'll miss them!

cotton candy colored outfits got me craving!! jk, I'd rather eat cake ;) 

this outfit I wore last week just to hang out with my family. so funny story, I love easy shoes, and while rubber boots are typically easy on and off - I bought these in a size 5 (I typically always wear 6 in other brands) and they are snug ;) I'm seriously always hopping around on one leg trying to yank them off. i'm getting pretty talented at the one leg balancing act ;) 

this cardigan is an ultimate favorite! it's so cozy and I pair it with everything!!! :) a neutral button up cardigan is a must own staple in my opinion. distressed denim and a few great tee shirts are also essential for casual days at my house

.it's called a toque.

today's post is so fun because my little Navi bean is in it! :) I love coordinating with my girl.
Navi's great-great grandma Norma made her this darling hat, she's in Canada and they call the beanies "toques" pronounced like "tukes". I just love it! my mom is Canadian, and I think it's really fun to use words or spell things the way they do there. we plan on taking a trip up in the early spring (we hope) to visit all the Canadian family and have them meet Navi. in the meantime, we"re grateful for Facebook, phones and video recordings! we plan on facetimimg very soon! :)

I have been obsessed with my Hunter boots and want to wear them with everything, I admit I was tempted this past sunday to wear them to church even. haha!

I love these boots, I had seen them on countless bloggers all throughout the fall and with them being the perfect 'lower priced' option to the Stuart Weitzman ones, I just couldn't pass them up! I'm having a hard time finding this exact color online anywhere but I will link similar ones too :) 

I had to save these pretty things until Christmas ;) so that's why they never appeared during the fall months. I've been a tad slow this month in getting new looks on the blog, a new year sometimes calls for a new start and my husband and I have big plans for this year! stay tuned! ;) 

I plan to showcase these boots in MANY more looks so if you end up investing in a pair of killer over the knee (OTK) boots, you'll have more inspiration! but for now, know that a great pair of skinny jeans and a longer sweater are the perfect combination :)

.incorporating key spring pieces.

prepping my closet for spring

for me the months between winter and spring are sometimes the trickiest to dress for. it's still chilly out but all the stores are releasing the spring colors so it's really tempting to just jump right in! I'm sharing a few pieces I consider vital to get you through the awkward months of dressing for the inbetween season :) 

one of my absolute favorite things is actually the jacket, it's lightweight and the green is fresh coming from winter, perfect to pair with those rich colors and all the neutral cable knit sweaters underneath

layering scarf and colored hats; these will help make the transition because they add that pop of dimension while offering texture and / or color/pattern. wear these seriously ALL season long! they're great investments! (and who says you can't have more than a few ;) 

this one is a bit more personal ;) but I say go for PINK! shades of blush will act as a nude in most outfits but they pull that feminine vibe that spring brings naturally into your outfit :) I'm seriously googly eyed for these heels!
