.snow white.

'mirror, mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all?'

I LOVE to dress up! Halloween is definitely not my favorite holiday because I'm absolutely afraid of creepy stuff, and I hate being scared ... because I scare easily ;) but dressing up ( and the candy! ) are the reasons why I endure this holiday. Snow White seemed fitting because well I am very fair ;) and while I have dressed up as many princesses .. Snow White is the one that I feel I portray the very best!

happy halloween! be safe and have fun!

what are you dressing up as???

.black and lace.

lace tee, Bohme // Hollister jeans, similar // Nine West wedges (old), similar linked below // Fig Tree earrings c/o // sunglasses, Target, similar here // Fossil watch

the moment I saw this top at Bohme I knew I needed it in my closet ... I can think of SO many ways to style it. it's pretty, feminine, boho yet super cool and different! I am on the hunt for some great black skinny jeans and black short booties! that's how I want to style this tee next ;)

how would you style this black lacey tee?? :)

thanks for stopping by!

beanie, Bohme // Hollister jeans, similar // sneakers, Forever 21, similar // J.Crew vest, this year's solid version // cardigan, Target // tee, Bohme // hair extensions, Bellami hair 22 in. Ash Blonde ;)

what do you guys think of the new site??? :) designed by Kaylie Marie
I'm obsessed! I LOVE the new cleaner look, it's functional and crisp yet shows a bit of flair with the pops of pink ;)

this look I wore last week and shared a picture on a couple pics on instagram .. thank you so much for your sweet comments :) :) I read them all and am seriously so lucky to have such great online friends! I have had my extensions since the summer but haven't worn them much lately (due to my laziness and busy work weeks) but I think I'm going to wear them more .. cause they're really pretty ;) ha! can I say that?! .. go here to see how I put them in and style them ;)
I stewed about whether or not I liked the vest over the cardigan but ultimately decided it was cute either way.

my hubs, brother and I went to a local pumpkin walk and got to admire all the many talents of pumpkin carving and seriously! they. are. artists! my favorites were some of the Beatles. we also bought a really cool art piece .. an oil painting of the mountains on actual sandstone! it's kind of heavy and just beautiful! I can't wait to get decorating someday in our own home and I'll show it to you guys then ;)

thank you for your support and love!

and of course ... I had to include a silly one because I just love my photographer sooo much ;)

.Stripes in Bloom is ONE!.

Bow and Drape custom sweatshirt // floral tank, NY & Co (old) .. linked similar ones below // Hollister jeans // Fossil watch // Bellami hair extensions 22 in. ash blonde // hair tutorial by Amber Clark // Kate Spade heels

let's talk about this outfit ... ;) firstly this sweatshirt. I AM OBSESSED. I wore it all weekend! it's seriously SO soft and comfy and adorable. I love Bow and Drape and plan to create many more custom products with them. the quality is spot on and I love the opportunity to make something unique and 100% my own. the saying fits if I do say so myself "lipstick addict" :) :) :) :)
the hair tutorial was easy to follow and it was fun to try something new, I couldn't do it without my lovely extensions though .. if you're contemplating getting some watch youtube and read reviews and see what will be the very best option for you. that's what I did and I decided for myself that Bellami was what I wanted :)  ps. I want to see your Bow and Drape creations so be sure to tag me on IG!!

Happy Birthday to my blog! Stripes in Bloom is 1!

my heart is SO full with gratitude and love for you and your continuous support :)
last year on this exact day Oct. 28 ... I had ZERO expectations on where my blog would be in 1 year. last year I had in october 268 views .. this year I have close to 3,000. I have no other words to say other than WOW and THANK YOU!

through my blog this year I have been blessed to work with companies such as Kohl's, Jane.com, Robjant Couture, Kidogo Kidogo, Fig Tree jewelry, Fancy Band by 3 Glam Girls, Triangl, Rue La La and many others! I've also been privileged to link up with bloggers for giveaways and posts, to name a few Taylore from High Class Low Cash, Chandler from Shotguns and Seashelss, Tayler from Ginger Next Door and Alia from Little Mrs. Priss .. thank you to all my sweet instagram friends who I'm inspired daily by! I hope to collaborate with you and hopefully we can one day meet!

here's a flash back at my very first blog post ... I have come a long way in my style, in my writing, in my own personal confidence but also in my relationship with my husband. he is my biggest fan and supporter. always willing to take my pictures, help me with my hair, help me pick which shoes at the last minute, I almost always ask him "straight or curly" each morning .. to say he's amazing is an understatement. he's the main reason I have this blog, he's my encourager. when it's been hard (because believe me, there are days when I feel like giving up, when I feel like nobody reads this, when I feel like I'm really not all that people believe me to be) he's there to listen and then ask if I love doing this, he asks why I have this blog ... and to me, it's a release. I LOVE fashion, I love having a platform that I can talk about it, where I can show and share my fabulous finds, where I can hopefully inspire someone out there for something good! that's why I do this. I hope you have had just as much fun as I have ... I have high hopes and attainable goals with my blog. I'm excited to see where I'll be next year. so thank you. thank you for following along on this journey with me. it really means the world.

.neutral smokey eye.

face // foundation .. bare skin by bare minerals // concealer .. mac prolongwear

lips // milani lipstick

sigma brushes // F80 // F86 // E40 // E30 // E55

this makeup look was based around a look that Jaclyn Hill came up with where the lower lash line is darker and more smoked out :) the foundation I'm using here is the Bare Skin by Bare Minerals and I have heard awesome things about it so I thought I'd check it out. the girl at the counter gave me a sample cup of the color Linen .. I'm not sure if it's the perfect shade though, it looks good in pictures and in person, just the video is making it look a bit odd. I really love it though. I feel like a little goes a long way (it sure looks like a lot from all the dots on my face) but I swear it's not ;) it's even less than I use from my Makeup Forever HD foundation .. in that I use a full pump and sometimes another half pump. the Bare Skin foundation is also close to $30-40% less than the MUFHD foundation (I didn't do my exact math) but it's good and worth it in my eyes. I haven't tried the new brush for the new foundation though, the girl at the counter used it, but I really love the application of my sigma kabuki so we'll see if I make the switch eventually.

what are your favorite foundations??? nars sheer glow is on my list to sample next ;)

yesterday I was so excited that Lorac Cosmetics tweeted about my Swatch and Haul video of the Lorac elegant orchid set that is exclusively sold at Kohls. ;) what a sweet surprise! I'm so happy they liked it! to check out that video go here .. find me on twitter @jensynjeppsen

you don't want to miss out on something SUPER cool coming tomorrow to the blog :) have a great day .. and as always! thank you for reading (today, watching) ;)

.layered up.

H&M denim jacket // Gilly Hicks sweater (old) (I linked a bunch down below that are similar) // VS Pink leggings, simliar here and here // Target tee // J.Crew Factory loafers

I saw Christine from Hello Fashion layer a grey cardigan under a denim jacket so I layered a grey cardigan under a denim jacket ;) .... anybody catch my reference? haha!

seriously though, I had never thought of putting these two items together in this way and I LOVE it! I love that the cardigan is long and is showing underneath the jacket. these leggings are yoga pants and I totally think they're great! I got them 50% off which is awesome ;) especially since I have wanted them since they came to the store a few months ago. sometimes being patient pays off ... the majority of the time I end up missing out because they sell out of my size before they go on sale. does this happen to anyone else?? ;)

okaaaaaayy .... can I just say it? (since you're all noticing it anyway) I NEED to just book my hair coloring appointment. HA! XD I'm seriously embarrassed it looks this bad ... yikes. some girls can pull off the roots look .. like Cara Loren and Amber Clark .. not me. (big thumbs down) I haven't scheduled the appointment because I keep telling myself to save my money because my husband and I have goals of buying a house and getting our cars paid off. sounds like normal life right? I have been really good at not buying -as much- I haven't completely stopped but I think I've been doing a pretty good job. yay for goals! and sticking to them! if only I could do that with working out ;)

so sorry for the tangent and all the chattiness today. :) if you know me in person, you know that hair is crucial and I'm beside myself right now.

thank you for reading! thank goodness it's friday ;) have a smashing weekend!

.casual with an edge.

moto jacket, Kohls (similar jackets linked below) // VS Pink thermal top // Flying Monkey jeans via Bohme // J.Crew Factory loafers // head wrap c/o Bloom by Haley Anne // Ray Ban sunglasses // Rebecca Minkoff bag

today I am sharing how I dressed up and edged up a casual thermal top. I added a chain necklace, a motorcycle jacket (in a softer color than black) and my bag that has cool zipper details ;) I LOVE this headwrap from Bloom by Haley Anne, the pattern adds just the perfect accent to this outfit. It's easy to style and can be worn so many different ways. She always offers 2 for $20 with the coupon code TWO4TWENTY on her etsy shop ... found here :)

can you believe we're getting to the end of October!? where is this year going?? I'm dying over how quickly it is passing by ... the mall is already focusing on Christmas and it's getting me excited :) I LOVE giving gifts and shopping ;) even though I know that's not the focus of Christmas, it is still a lot of fun to be close to family and celebrate with loved ones!

hope you enjoy your day! thanks for reading :)
