.outerwear staples.

.outerwear favorites.

trench coat // $ // $$ // $$$, similar

moto jacket // $ // $$ // $$$, similar

today I wanted to share jacket trends that I'm loving for this years' outerwear. the bomber, the collarless jacket, and the denim jacket are 3 additional styles that are really popular this season. however, I am focusing on the moto jacket and the trench. we all have different budgets and so I thought it'd be fun to show how you can get the look no matter your price range :)

I chose to show a tan trench coat and a black motorcycle jacket, however ... ANY color that you love and want to incorporate in your wardrobe works :) I chose to share neutrals but I also think that colors and other neutrals are just as beautiful. buy what you will wear often because if you're like me, you don't own as many outerwear pieces as you do tops, dresses, pants, etc. outerwear pieces for me need to be able to be dressy, casual, and easily paired with about everything I have because I like to grab it and go out the door :)
cause come on ... we spend enough time planning out the outfit in the first place ;)

thanks for stopping by!

here are a few more options for each style :) enjoy!

top row .. collarless // 2nd row .. denim // 3rd row .. bomber // 4th row .. trench // 5th .. moto

.fall brights.

moto jacket, Kohl's // neon top, old J.Crew, similar // jeans, Flying Monkey via Bohme // heels, Kate Spade, other colors here // clutch, Grace Adele (no longer available) // watch, Fossil

I have wanted a leather / faux leather jacket for a while now and I seriously just couldn't find one that I really loved the way it looked, and fit. I like that this one from Kohl's is thinner, so I can easily layer sweaters and more bulky tops without feeling too bulky. I also wanted something with some detail (without going overboard) I love the sleeve detail and on the shoulder. This jacket was a win for me, so naturally ... I bought it in gray too ;)

I think it's fun to do things a bit unexpected, just because it's fall and the sky gets darker faster doesn't mean I should stuff away my bright, happy clothes. I think neons are great ANY season, any time of day, any occasion ;) let's be real, *most occasions. If you're not a fan of neons, you could so easily switch out the colors I chose for other neutrals, navy, gray, white or even do a printed top. Jeans and a great leather / faux leather jacket make a great base for a fabulous outfit. Flats or boots would be just as cute as heels (and perhaps a bit more functional) ;)

Thank you everyone for reading!
have a great monday! :)

.lady like.

top, old Bohme Boutique, love this and this // cardigan, J.Crew Factory // skirt, J.Crew // heels, Sole Society // watch, Fossil // nail polish, Essie 'Find me an Oasis'

hey everyone! today's outfit was from this previous sunday, I had worn this skirt the day before with a gray tee and burgundy heels and felt that -nothing- else in my closet would go with this skirt. (do any of you struggle with feeling like you have zero things that go together?! I should see some hand raises ;) then I had an idea to pair a more bold floral with this pale pink and I really loved it. I am actually sad I didn't wear this the day before to my friends' temple sealing.

and.. thanks to the rain because instead of fall this outfit looks like I'm in spring :) but hey, we've had really warm weather and I like the fact that one minute I can be in pink / coral and the next be in my deeper toned outfits. #PerksOfBeingAUtahn

I'm seriously obsessed with this skirt from J.Crew and I'm way bummed because online is selling out ffffaaaaassssstttt. so, get to your nearest store and check it out! it's such a great length and comes in a few other colors too.

thank you for reading friends!

.classic with a twist.

skirt Lauren Conrad via Kohl's // heels Nine West, old, love these and these // top Hollister // watch Fossil // necklaces Grace Adele (no longer available)

I wore this look two sundays ago and absolutely adore the femininity yet the edge that this look gives. I've been wanting a faux leather skirt for almost two years and seriously fell in love with this one, first off, because of the beautiful, girly silhouette but also because of the price ;) Kohl's you're wonderful! I've always admired a classic black and white outfit but the leather and the leopard add that bit of sass that I feel is important to make a statement :)

I layered two necklaces from the same collection to add dimension and interest to a simple white blouse. What do you think of the stark black and white look?

thank you everyone for reading! :)

.my new obsessions.

vest VS Pink (found in store) // checked top AEO, old, similar // jeans Hollister // boots Franco Sarto via Nordstrom Rack (found in store) // watch Fossil // earrings c/o Fig Tree Jewelry (use code Jen15 for 15% off your purchase)

I should've given a warning for the pic overload ;) but I love this outfit! it'll definitely be a go to for me this fall! first off - get yourselves these boots! I have wanted an over the knee style for over a year and last year I bought a pair that didn't quite fit right .. these ones have elastic along the backside so they hold your leg a lot better, they're so flattering and don't add bulk.

I also have loved cobalt blue and the dark plum / burgundy shade and thought WHY NOT put them together :) :) :) and ... I LOVE it! what do you think?? would you wear this color combo? my hair is easily styled by twisting a section of my hair and then pinning it back :)

thank you for reading! :)
